Retirement Ceremony/Deadmarsh Honor Night Summary

Adam announced his retirement before the start of the 2005-06 season. A special ceremony for Adam's fans and his two teams to celebrate his career took place on March 20, 2006 at STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California prior to the Avs/Kings game.

I have transcripts of the event and several articles, which will be going up soon.

I got the honor of meeting Adam's brother Jake (who hadn't seen Adam all evening [he was with the TV announcers!]) that evening and he was really sweet, trying to put me at ease by talking to me, but I was so nervous, I never even asked to take a picture with him like I initially wanted to do. Jake, please accept my very public apology.

(in the last photo, I figured out exactly why Jake hadn't seen Adam all evening! Thank you for trying anyway, Jake!)

Personal photos, courtesy of me and my friend Leah... thank you SO much, Leah! The first photo is the only one that belongs exclusively to 18/28 (my camera decided to be difficult).

A copy of the honors ceremony audio files can be found at the links below (please right-click and save rather than run it from the site itself).
A fresh, crisp version is up. Please feel free to re-download it.
It's all in .wav format.

The song used for the highlight montage (cut out) was "It's My Life" by Jon Bon Jovi.
